E Cubic Pty Ltd (ABN 83 693 352 055), trading as E3 Energy (“we”, “us”, “our”), is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, and how we comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our website or providing us with your information, you consent to the practices described below.
1. What personal information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email address and postal or site address.
- Property and energy information — your electricity bills, meter or interval (usage) data, tariff details, roof and site information, and existing solar or battery details, so we can size and quote a system.
- Enquiry details — the content of your enquiry, quote requests, and information you submit through our forms or savings calculator.
- Website usage data — pages visited, device and browser information, and similar analytics data collected automatically (see section 7).
We collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide our products and services.
2. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you (when you complete a form, use our savings calculator, request a quote, call or email us, or engage us for an installation); automatically when you browse our website, via cookies and analytics tools (section 7); and, where you have authorised it, from third parties such as your electricity retailer or distributor in order to obtain your interval data.
3. Why we collect and use it
- respond to your enquiries and provide quotes;
- assess your site, and design and size a solar and/or battery system;
- supply, install, commission and support the products and services you engage us for;
- determine eligibility for, and process, government rebates and incentives (for example federal STCs, the Cheaper Home Batteries program, and Solar Victoria programs);
- manage payments, warranties and after-sales support;
- improve our website and services; and
- send you information about our products or offers where you have not opted out (you can unsubscribe at any time).
4. Who we disclose it to
We may disclose your personal information to:
- accredited installers, electricians and contractors engaged to assess or install your system;
- equipment manufacturers and suppliers (for example Sigenergy, FOX ESS and JA Solar) for warranty registration and support;
- government bodies and scheme administrators to claim or process rebates and certificates, including the Clean Energy Regulator and Solar Victoria;
- service providers who support our business — for example IT, hosting, CRM, email, payment, live-chat and analytics providers (see section 7); and
- others where required or authorised by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process data on servers located outside Australia — for example our analytics provider (Google, United States) and our CRM and email-marketing provider (United States). Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.
6. How we store and protect it
We hold personal information in electronic and, where relevant, paper form, and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including access controls and secure systems. We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law, after which we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
7. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use it. We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Ads conversion tracking, and may use the Meta (Facebook) pixel for advertising measurement, a live-chat tool, and on-site visitor statistics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work as intended.
8. Direct marketing
We may send you marketing communications about our products and services where permitted. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option, and you can opt out at any time by contacting us (section 11). We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) for electronic messages.
9. Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details in section 11. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first. There is generally no charge, though we may recover reasonable costs for substantial access requests.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs or mishandled your personal information, please contact us (section 11) and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
